In November of every year we have elections for club officers for the club for the following years, which are announced at the Christmas Party in December. The found club officer positions (and therefore Board Members) are President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.

However, in November 2022, no-one stepped-up to become President, and so far in 2023 no-one has yet volunteered.

This puts us in a bind: our bylaws require that we have four (4) Board Members to operate the club. And we can’t make any major decisions without all four (4) members.

In order to facilitate a volunteer stepping forward, we’ve written a job description so that anyone interested can see that the job is pretty straight-forward and not a huge time sink.

Job Activities Include:

            • Coordinate AARC activities to address the needs of members, including:
              • Members seeking an amateur radio license
              • New Hams
              • Emergency Communications
              • Repeater and HF operations
              • Scholarships
            • Plan agenda and conduct the business portion of monthly meetings
              • Help arrange meeting venue as necessary
            • Call and conduct Board meetings when necessary (our non-profit status requires a 4-member board: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer)
            • Appoint committee members for the following activities:
              • Technical Committee
              • Field Day
              • Copeland Scholarships
              • Christmas Party
              • Testing Committee
            • Represent AARC on any documents requiring the President’s signature
            • Communicate to AARC members through the President’s Corner on the website.

If you have any interest, please contact our Treasurer, Mark Jenkins, or any other current board member.
